Newsjunkie tracks how many times 199 countries appear in the Reuters and Associated Press newsfeeds in all categories in the last seven days. The tagcloud indicates the relative prominence of the countries in the news. Click on the country name to display the headlines of stories that mention the country. The tagcloud is updated every 4 hours throughout the day.
Tagcloud. In the tagcloud, the larger the type, the more often the countries are mentioned in the news. The color of the country name gives useful information as well. Dark red text indicates the number of references has increased in the last week and there are new stories about the country today. Light red text indicates the number has increased in the last week but there are no new stories today. Dark blue text indicates the number has declined or stayed the same but there are new stories today. Light blue text indicates the number has declined or stayed the same and there are no new stories today. Headlines have links to the stories on the New York Times Web site.
Keyword search. You can search for news stories containing any word in the keyword search box in the tagcloud.
Bookmarking the search. When the headlines are displayed, there is an option to save the search as a Favorite if you are using Internet Explorer. When you click on the Favorite in the future, newsjunkie performs a new search to show you the latest news on the country or keyword.
